De vez em quando, pessoas que moram fora de Portugal pedem-me dicas turísticas sobre Lisboa. Uns são portugueses emigrados há muito tempo, que já não estão a par dos circuitos de quem vive cá, outros são estrangeiros que vêm de férias ou acabaram de se mudar. Todos querem ir a sítios giros, genuínos e com poucos turistas. Sendo impossível escapar aos turistas, que sinceramente não me incomodam nada excepto quando deixam lixo na rua, deixo-vos os melhores lugares da melhor cidade do mundo. Para mim, claro!

From time to time, people ask me for travel tips on Lisbon. Some are Portuguese who live abroad for so long they don’t even know what’s cool anymore, others are foreigners who are about to visit the city or just moved in. All of them want to go to places that are hip, genuine and not crowded. While I can’t help you escape the tourists, (who don’t really bother me at all, as long as they don’t leave trash on the streets), I can reveal the best places of the best city in the world. For me, that is!

 

Para passear  / For walking around

• Miradouro da Graça

Há dezenas miradouros fantásticos em Lisboa, mas este é o meu preferido.

There are dozens of beautiful viewpoints in Lisbon, but this is my favourite.

• Panorâmico de Monsanto

É fora da cidade propriamente dita, mas a vista é incrível e após duas edições do Festival Iminente vale a pena conhecer.

It’s outside the city, but the view is incredible and after being the place where Iminente Festival is held, it became a must visit.

• Jardim da Estrela

O mais romântico dos jardins lisboetas com o seu coreto único e as badaladas da Basílica da Estrela como banda sonora.

The most romantic garden in Lisbon, with its unique bandstand and the bells of Basílica da Estrela singing in the background.

• Alfama

É o meu bairro preferido para caminhar e descobrir ruelas impossíveis.

My favourite neighbourhood for walking around.

• Jardim do Torel

Nada turístico, um oásis do meio da cidade e ainda tem um cafezinho fantástico com wifi e hamburgers deliciosos (o Banana Café).

Not many tourists around, an oasis in the middle of the city where you can also find a wonderful café with wifi and amazing burgers (Banana café).

 

Para comer / For eating out

• Basílio

Ideal para brunch ou lanche, tem comida boa e saudável, smoothies e sobremesas.

Ideal for a brunch or afternoon snack, it has healthy delicious food, smoothies and deserts.

• Soi

Street food asiática muito bem confeccionada. Óptima sangria.

Delicious asian street food. Excellent Sangria.

• Ramiro

Incontornável para os amantes de marisco, hoje em dia só se consegue não estar na fila se for para um almoço muito tardio ou lanche ajantarado.

A must go for any seafood lover, nowadays you can only escape the huge lines if you go for a very late lunch or very early dinner.

• Bairro do Avillez

Adoro o Páteo, com comida típica portuguesa em modo sofisticado e decoração lindíssima da Joana Astolfi.

You can find typical Portuguese food with sophisticated presentation and beautiful decor by Joana Astolfi at the Páteo.

• A Primavera do Jerónimo

Comida típica portuguesa em modo tasca e só com 4 ou 5 mesas.

Typical Portuguese food in a very humble and small place (only 4 or 5 tables)

• Bica do Sapato

Temporariamente fechado, mas para mim a melhor relação qualidade preço quando se quer um restaurante fashion.

It’s temporarily closed, but it has the best quality/price ratio for a posh restaurant.

• Gelato Davvero

Esqueçam qualquer outra geladaria. A sério.

Forget about any other icecream shop. For real. 

• Confeitaria Cister

Frequentada por Eça de Queirós, continua a ter os melhores Jesuítas e pastéis de nata da cidade, que eu cá não gosto dos de Belém.

It was once frequented by Eça de Queirós, and it still has the best Jesuítas and Pastéis de Nata in town (Belém are NOT the best!)

 

Para ir às compras / For Shopping

• Livraria da Travessa

Nova, bonita, curadoria interessante se bem que com pouca aposta nos autores portugueses e sem nenhum livro meu, já agora…

New, beautiful, good book selection, although not many Portuguese authors (none of my books available when I was there…)

• Amélie au Theatre

A loja onde eu compraria todo o meu guarda roupa se pudesse…

The store where I would buy all my wardrobe if I could…

• Wetani

Loja de autor, eclética e única – não é por acaso que vem no guia da Louis Vuitton há dois anos consecutivos – onde podem encontrar artigos de decoração, moda, lingerie e acessórios.

A unique and eclectic shop, so tasteful that is featured on the Louis Vuitton Guide for two years in a row. There you can find decor, fashion, lingerie and accessories.

• Luvaria Ulisses

A-do-ro! A loja com o seu look anos 20 e as luvas feitas à medida.

Love the store, with it’s 1920’s vibe, and the handmade gloves!

• El Dorado

Mix de vintage e marcas contemporâneas que não se encontram noutros lugares

A mix of vintage and contemporary brands that you can’t find elsewhere.

• Mona

Não sei se o nome se deve a isso, mas parece a loja do MOMA em Nova Iorque, com uma selecção de produtos de design prático e muito original, bem como espaço para exposições.

I don’t know if it’s on purpose, but it feels like the gift store of MOMA in NY, with a wide selection of awesome design and small gifts. It’s also a gallery.

• LX Factory

Não é uma loja mas um lugar onde há várias lojas giras, cafés, restaurantes, galerias, feiras, hostel, discotecas, enfim, vale mesmo a pena passar lá umas horas.

It’s not a store, but a space where you can find cool stores, cafés, restaurantes, galleries, and more. Worth spending a couple of hours around.

 

Para quem gosta de arte / For art lovers

• Galeria Underdogs

Eu sou suspeita, porque adoro street art, mas acho que é galeria mais interessante da cidade. Para quem não sabe pertence ao Vhils.

I’m a bit suspect, because I love street art, but for me this is the most interesting gallery in town. Owned by Vhils.

• Gulbenkian

Quer seja para passear pelos jardins, para ver uma das sempre interessantes exposições temporárias ou para conhecer o centro de arte moderna, é o meu museu preferido.

Whether for walking around the garden, see one of the temporary exhibits or the modern art collection, it’s my favourite Lisbon museum.

• Museu Bordalo Pinheiro

Pequenino mas incrível, sobretudo para conhecer a obra de ilustração e de cerâmica absolutamente únicas do mestre.

Small but incredible for all those who want to learn all about this amazing cartoonist and ceramicist that became a national symbol.

 

Para sair à noite / For a night out

• Tapas 52

Não dá para explicar o ambiente deste bar de tapas, com um staff incrível – as tapas também não são nada más – que está sempre a dar tudo. Ideal para o início da noite. Também é bom para ver a bola.

It’s hard to explain this bar, with incredibly nice staff and very good tapas. It’s ideal to start the night. Also nice to watch a football game.

• TOPO Martim Moniz

Rooftop com excelentes cocktails e uma vista linda para o Castelo e a Mouraria.

• PARK

90% de turistas, música mais para o hip hop, mas com uma vista como não há outra. Aberto das 13h às 2h.

90% tourists, hip hop music, but the view is worth it. Open from 1pm to 2 am.

• LUX

Considerada pelos especialistas uma das melhores discotecas do mundo, é um espaço que nunca desilude, mesmo quando não está cheio.

Considered one of the best clubs in the world, it’s a place that never lets you down, even when it’s not at full power.

• Jamaica

Para ouvir e dançar rock a sério, dos anos 70, 80 e 90. Bem pequeno e apertado.

Perfect if you like to dance to 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock. Small and cozy.
